Last Friday, Vuzix, a global vendor of augmented reality (AR) smart glasses, announced the integration of 28 languages for the companys M-Series of enterprise-grade immersive hardware.

The added languages are part of the version 2.5 OS update for Vuzix brand M400 and M4000 smart glasses. The update improves voice recognition and support for Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Farsi, Finnish, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Indonesian, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Thai, and Turkish.

Previously, Vuxiz M-series devices only supported English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

The update comes as Vuzix aims to expand its user base following successful distribution efforts in European and Asian regions.

Paul Travers, President and Chief Executive Officer at Vuzix, added:

“Vuzix smart glasses are presently being used in a long list of countries around the world for a variety of applications and it is important for us to provide as much regional language support as possible.”

Tomorrow, May 5, in collaboration with Vivoka, Vuzix is hosting a free webinar to showcase the latest M-Series update and hold discussions on the hardware.

Fueling Immersive Enterprise

Last month, the Rochester, New York-based firm introduced Zoom functionalities on its lineup of smartglasses; available via the Zoom App Marketplace.

The Zoom integration enables users to connect remotely to conduct peer-to-peer meetings. Also, the application allows a worker to share their POV video feed.

Vuzix introduced another primary workplace application in February. The firm added support for Microsoft Endpoint Manager, a platform to protect company data and manage Android OpenSource Projects.

Microsofts application enables businesses to carry out training and onboarding procedures using immersive AR applications, improving efficiency and reducing costs.

The news comes after Vuzix introduced the M400-C, a new AR product, ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show in January. Vuzix priced its latest devices at approximately $1,199; the device includes 1080p/60 FPS video recording, OLED displays, and voice control.

Vuzix rolled out the M400-C device before shipping to select Windows mobile computer manufacturers to provide an ideal solution for Windows-centric companies.
