Vuzix, a global augmented reality (AR) smart glass manufacturer, announced late last month it would support Microsoft Endpoint Manager.

Microsoft Endpoint Manager is an enterprise-grade application that provides firms with a secure platform to protect data and provide a place to manage Android OpenSource Project (AOSP)-based software or hardware.

Now, Microsoft is supporting Vuzix brand smart glasses on its Endpoint platform to enhance business-wide immersive onboarding and training.

Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix, said,

“This type of solution offers enterprise-level companies the security they need to feel safe onboarding potentially tens of thousands of glasses and allowing them to do so in a streamlined fashion”

Also, Vuzix worked closely with customer feedback to provide firms with a secure management platform for its enterprise-grade AR hardware, allowing businesses to use the Microsoft platform to securely deploy AR devices across on-site or dispersed workforces.

A Post-Pandemic Solution

Following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, many businesses required new tools to enhance remote communications and guidance for hybrid or remote workers. AR head-mounted device vendors such as Vuzix, Thirdeye, and Magic Leap later stepped in to provide their enterprise-grade tools.

Now, Vuzix is standing out from its competition by listening to post-pandemic feedback to supply its customers with an efficient and safe method to distribute the firm’s lineup of immersive devices.

Pano Spiliotis, Managing Director of Vuzix Custom Solutions, said it was crucial to offer a streamlined management system for mobile AR devices to successfully complete onboarding protocols.

The director added,

“By offering Microsoft Endpoint Manager for our smart glasses, we provide a way for IT departments to easily and quickly configure Vuzix devices, manage compliance, view all hardware properties, and much more”

Spiliotis added that Endpoint-supported Vuzix hardware gave companies the flexibility required to securely manage AR devices for large workforces.

Vuzix Smart Glasses

Since 1997, Vuzix has been developing highly-innovative AR solutions built for consumer and enterprise markets.

Currently, the New York-based firm holds roughly 243 immersive technology patents, and the firm has won several awards at international technology expos such as the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Recently at CES 2022, Vuzix launched its M400-C AR smart glasses. The firm’s latest device is available for roughly $1,199, and includes built-in features such as a 1080p display, noise-cancelling microphones, an autofocusing lens, voice controls, and much more.

Vuzix’s M400-C device is now available for enterprises following a trial period at an unspecified Windows mobile computer manufacturer.
