US tech giant Apple announced earlier this week its next major keynote event would take place on September 14, with the event providing Apple Watch, iPhone and Airpods updates.
But a secret Apple ‘Easter Egg’ may suggest more as iPhone users have reported spotting an undisclosed augmented reality (AR) experience on their smartphone devices.
The AR experience allows users to place a massive Apple logo with an imposed evening lakeside graphic anywhere in their home.

To view the experience, iPhone users must visit Apple’s event page and tap on the large logo to launch the company’s ARKit viewer.
The new graphic hints at an AR or mixed reality (MR) debut at Apple’s keynote event, just as the Cupertino-based tech firm recently filed numerous patents expected to be unveiled next week.
Additional patents include an MR user interface (UI) with hand gesture support, improved facial and emotion tracking, an air conditioning unit, and others.
XR Today also reported Apple’s upcoming MR headset may require tethering to Mac or iPhone devices to offload more demanding tasks to optimise the device’s overall performance.
