Apple Works with TSMC on Micro Displays for AR

Speaking of augmented reality smart glasses, last week, we also covered tech-giant Apple’s recent announcement of its partnership with TSMC, a world-leading developer of MicoLED displays.

As seen in Vuzix’s latest release at CES2021 in January, these lightweight MicroLED displays will allow Apple to deliver a discreetly designed, minimalist smart glass device that can still provide high functionality.

While Apple has released no official images to date, this news confirms the company will be hoping to follow a similar design strategy to Vuzix in the years to come.
