Leading developers of innovative virtual reality headsets and enterprise solutions, Pico Interactive, just announced the completion of a $37.4M (€31.4M) B+ funding round for partners and customers.

The funding will support Pico’s B2C presence in Asia and Pico’s initiatives in Western markets by expanding its volume of B2B partners and rapidly accelerating the pace of new product development outside of China.

Speaking at the official release, Zhou Hongwei, CEO of Pico Interactive, stated that “Pico is looking to provide its users with the best VR experience possible through excellent hardware, a great content ecosystem, and numerous strategic partners.”

“This funding round will not only help us strengthen the accumulation of key technologies but also…helps us to continue furthering our presence as a leader in B2B VR solutions in the West. We’re continuously looking for ways to better support our partners, and this latest financing will help give us the tools we need to make these visions a reality”

As well as strengthening Pico’s position as a market leader in the VR hardware space, the fact the company plans to use much of this funding to help support its B2B partnerships is a clear indication of where the company envisions the marketplace heading in 2021 and beyond.

Over the last 12 months, Pico has secured its reputation as a leader in developing VR headsets for the enterprise, releasing several new headsets (the Neo 2 and Neo 2 Eye) in 2020 alone – but it doesn’t stop there!

According to the release, Pico is also working on an updated model of the Neo 2 headset, the Neo 3, which is expected to hit the market later on this year.

For more information on what Pico does with this funding, and for a firsthand look at all the new features and benefits, the Neo 3 headset will offer when released later on this year, be sure to check out XR Today’s VR news section for all the biggest updates.
