Enterprise-grade VR headset developers, VRgineers, have partnered with TESLASUIT haptics to create a revolutionary new immersive learning solution for pilots, soldiers, and astronauts.
Together, the two developers aim to provide professionals with a completely revolutionary technology set to change the VR training marketplace forever.
By combining VRgineers’ flagship enterprise-grade VR headset, XTAL, with the TESLASUIT haptics bodysuit, users can feel the real haptic feedback in a state of full immersion, giving a whole new dimension to XR training processes.
A new era in the immersive learning experience
While often overlooked, touch is a powerful sense that is crucial for human learning and growth. As babies, we develop our sense of touch before anything else, and we’ve been using it to communicate and engage with the world around us from day one.
While VR headsets do a great job of immersing the sense of sight and sound, they do little to stimulate the sense of touch within extended reality simulations. As a result, many immersive learning experiences fall short when it comes to educating users at a sensory level, as the user is never able to engage psychically with the simulated reality around them.
With the TESLASUIT haptic feedback system, however, the suit utilizes electro-stimulation, 360-degree awareness, and muscle memory to engage the the body as well as the mind. With this bodysuit, users can make “physical” contact with “virtual” world to suspend their disbelief in the simulation and enhance their immersive experience to unprecedented levels.
When combined with the XTAL professional VR headset, users can also benefit from a 180° field of view, pixel-perfect 8K resolution and advanced technologies such as eye tracking and rendering to achieve an even higher state of immersion.
Who will benefit most from this technology?
When announcing the partnership, VRgineers stated that the military, aerospace, and space sectors will be their primary target for this tech pushing forward.
Yet, as the marketplace continues to develop, and the cost of these cutting-edge technologies eventually starts to come down, we’re confident these solutions will be implemented across the board for use in education, safety training, physical rehabilitation, sports, and more.
Until then, we can’t wait to see what TESLASUIT and VRgineers have lined up for 2021, and we’ll be reporting all updates on XR Today for our readers as soon as they are released.
