Taiwanese consumer electronics firm HTC has announced it will begin taking pre-orders for its enterprise-grade Vive Focus 3 heaset, it was revealed this week.

The market-leading company unveiled its Vive Pro 2 and Vive Focus 3 headsets at the Vivecon 2021 event last month, XR Today reported in May.

The consumer-focused Vive Pro 2 is currently available for purchase, and the Vive Focus 3 will be available for pre-order in EMEA regions from the 10th June.

The original Vive Pro was released in 2018 and the new Focus 3 headset is a big advancement from the foundations laid out.

XR Today also noted upgrades in the Vive Focus 3, which includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2 platform, a massive 5K display (2448 × 2448 pixels per eye), a 90Hz refresh rate, and an ultra-wide 120-degree field of view.

Following the announcement, Vive’s high-quality display led the VR market, but Apara recently announced an All-in-One headset with a 5K display to rival competitors.

The Vive Focus 3 also has key competitors such as Facebook’s enterprise-grade Oculus Quest 2, which costs $799 in selected countries, but the Focus 3 will be available globally from June 10 onwards.

Vive’s latest VR products come with near-unmatched technical specifications and dedicated support for businesses, which reflects the higher £1,272.00 price point.

Where to buy

The Vive Focus 3 can be pre-ordered from the 10th of June onwards at HTC’s sales page.

Additionally, the Vive Pro 2 is priced at £719 and can be ordered online, and the enterprise variant can be found for £971.00 at its website.

Available later this year is a bundled version of the Pro 2, which includes a Base Station 2.0 and Vive controllers valued at £1,272.00.

Along with the headset hardware, HTC has released two new additions—The Vive Motion Tracker and Vive Tracker 3.0.

The Vive Motion Tracker matches captured facial expressions and mouth movements with a users voice, adding to the immersive experience of educational, medical, and training applications.

The Vive Motion Tracker is available to order now and the SDK can be access on their website.

Vive’s Tracker 3.0 system will be a “smaller, lighter, and longer-lasting than ever before”, according to its website, and its lightweight sensors can be attached to the users arms and legs to capture precise real-life movements in VR space. Vive Trackers are available for order now on HTC’s online store.
