Varjo, a market leader for industrial-grade VR/XR hardware and software, recently began shipping the next-generation of its flagship VR-3 and XR-3 headsets worldwide.

Widely regarded as the best virtual reality and mixed reality headsets for enterprise to date, the elite-grade functionality of the VR-3 and XR-3 shocked the world when released for sale back in December 2020.

Since then, Varjo has gone from strength to strength, with many professional users from different verticals across the globe now using VR-3 and XR-3 headsets to drastically improve training, operational performance, knowledge retention, collaboration, and more.

The Finnish Air Force, for example, developed a pioneering Live-Virtual-Constructive pilot training solution, combining live Hawk aircraft in the air with mixed reality simulators on the ground as part of the same training environment.

Additionally, Laerdal, a global leader in patient simulation, recently partnered with Varjo to build the next generation of immersive, practical mixed reality training for medical scenarios using the Varjo XR-3.

Accelerating the Spatial Computing Revolution

As the number of use cases for Varjo’s mixed reality and virtual reality headsets continues to grow, it’s clear to see how much of an impact this technology will have on the industrial and enterprise worlds of tomorrow.

According to Urho Konttori, Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Varjo, the XR-3 and VR-3 headsets are making photorealistic immersive applications more widely accessible than ever before – but that’s not all!

“Varjo is accelerating the spatial computing revolution in the workplace overall,” says Konttori. “Thanks to a lower price point, coupled with the absolute best technology available, these headsets unlock an entirely new set of experiences where users can no longer tell the difference between what is real and what is not,” he adds.

While the Oculus Quest 2 continues to dominate the entry-level and mid-market of extended reality tech, Varjo’s continued success places them in a dominant position over other high-end mixed reality vendors like Microsoft and Magic Leap.

What’s next for Varjo?

After recently becoming the first extended reality hardware provider to join Unity’s Verified Solutions Partner Program, we expect Varjo still has many tricks and innovations up its sleeve in the years to come.

In addition to this partnership, the latest generation of Varjo headsets are now compatible with the world’s most powerful real-time 3D creation platform, Unreal Engine, as well as Lockheed Martin Prepar3d, VBS BlueIG, FlightSafety Vital, and many other powerful mixed reality applications.
