Yesterday, Vallourec leveraged virtual reality immersive environments for its Delphy hydrogen storage site, enabling visitors to take a comfortable virtual tour without setting foot in the real location.

According to Vallourec, Delphy can revolutionize the hydrogen value chain, so the firm clearly wants to showcase this space as efficiently as possible for potential clients.

Vallourec centralised the immersive tour technology at a location in Aulnoye-Aymeries, Northern France. As of this writing, more than 50 clients and partners have leveraged the newly announced immersive tour to understand the Delphy hydrogen storage optimisation technology better.

Choosing Virtual Reality to Showcase Crucial Insights

Vallourec created an XR alternative to impersonal tours to broaden access to information and visuals regarding the site and accommodate a new high demand for visits to the Deplhy space.

Vallourec’s guided immersive tour is accessible via a range of devices, namely desktops and laptops, creating a simple onboarding procedure.

The tour lasts 1-2 hours. During the tour, visitors can see important details regarding the site, participate in a Q&A session, and follow up with a discussion session.  The tour includes core information on various topics, including safety, security, reliability, maintenance, and cost estimates.

The immersive version of the Delphy hydrogen storage site acts as a digital twin of the real-life space, allowing users to observe a virtual retention of the location with great detail and additional integrated insertion. The global digital twin market is experiencing significant growth, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 41%. It is projected to reach a value of $240.3 billion by 2035. This remarkable growth is driven by the emergence of new use cases for digital twins across various enterprise settings.

Digital twins provide numerous advantages, such as assisting companies in tracking and improving employee performance, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting the shift to remote and hybrid work environments. This technology creates countless opportunities for businesses in sectors ranging from industrial to enterprise environments. By leveraging digital twins, companies can boost productivity, enhance employee and customer satisfaction, reduce costs, and minimize their environmental impact.
