Trezi is a 2018 VR collaboration startup based out of India. It had held a total of three funding rounds till date, the latest one in February 2020 where it raised an undisclosed amount.

Trezi is geared towards AEC professionals – or anyone else working with 3D product rendering – which includes architects, interior designers, engineering product manufacturers, the electronics industry, etc. “Trezi is on its track to deploy its latest release – notching up design collaboration and communication to yet another level,” according to company executives’ statements during the funding round.

As part of this latest release, Trezi now supports an exterior rendering mode, paving the way for adoption in a whole new user segment. Let us take a closer look at its features.

What are the Key Features of Trezi?

Trezi lets you collaborate on and edit 3D project files in real-time within a VR workspace. This is achieved through the following features.

Presentation enhancements

Trezi has several features to transform your typical product presentation experience. The table top enables an interactive scale model and orients the audience accordingly, and you can demonstrate the design more effectively using horizontal/vertical section cuts. The meeting host and the audience can teleport into the model and move around freely to experience an immersive presentation. And any note or annotation can be captured through instant snapshots.

3D content design

You can design 3d objects collaboratively inside of 3D, including full-scale 3D models, 3D videos, and 360-degree snapshots as well as panorama tools. Trezi lets you customise your existing designs by adding fresh visual media so that you don’t have to recycle old content or build from scratch. Content created within Trezi can be immediately shared via the web app or mobile devices.

BIM integrations and plugins

Trezi has four plugins for BIM professionals: the Autodesk FBX plugin, the Autodesk Revit plugin, the Trimble SketchUp plugin, and the McNeel Rhinoceros plugin. Metadata from BIM files are imported into the platform, reducing effort duplication. Participants can review and edit designs inside Trezi, and take snapshots for later reference.

Ready to use object library

If you do not have existing 3D content and don’t want to start entirely from scratch, Trezi has a library of 1,500+ assets and 800+ materials to kickstart your project. This makes it easy to start designing in Trezi without the hassle of ensuring access to a third-party library of prerequisites.

What are the Benefits of Using Trezi?

A major benefit of using Trezi is that it has a full-featured desktop environment without any feature constraints. In case you do not have VR hardware, you can run Trezi alongside traditional BIM software for its easy design edits, pre-built asset libraries, and intuitive tools like layout grids, object snaps, etc.

How Much Will It Cost?

Trezi is available in four versions – called Lens for independent use, Showcase for up to three users, Academy for educational environments, and enterprise which features advanced collaboration and communication. Prices start at INR 96,000 or approximately $1312 per year, but this could vary depending on your location.
