Shanghai-based DPVR are leaders in the Chinese artificial intelligence (AI) and virtual reality (VR) hardware markets, and the firm’s flagship E3 and P1 headset lineups are used by consumers and commercial businesses in over 100 countries.

DPVR are expanding their industry appeal with the new Starlink solution built for education and industry training.

Starlink is a wireless, immersive training experience and while similar solutions are appearing, the solution is different as it does not require any intrusive or expensive hardware.

Instead, Starlink connects up to 40 people through a single, PC-tethered VR headset, creating a shared VR classroom between users.

The PC tethered user acts as a presenter and the wireless VR users can take part in the presentation.

DPVR Vice-President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, Derek Liu, explains the development towards a wireless program over a more conventional, wired, set up:

“Our field team shared all the challenges we had with traditional wired VR headset training solutions. Messy, complicated, too many computers. It was possible, but not ideal. To be able to get rid of all of that and just focus on a single PC tethered unit and lots of wireless headsets is perfect. It’s easier to manage and will give group training a new dimension”

Veative software solutions

Award-winning Indian AR/VR software developers Veative have experience in developing AR/VR solutions for education and training, and have worked on over 1,000 projects across more than 20 countries.

Since 2016, Veative have been gaining industry recognition as they continue to prove themselves among the industry’s top firms, and their product lineups, platforms, and services provide comprehensive and immersive training solutions.

Veative have been at the core of DPVR’s training software, having developed an Occupational Health and Safety training course for DPVR students in 2018.

The working relationship continues as Veative creates new training software for the Starlink system.

The Future for Starlink

All DPVR headsets are compatible with Starlink, allowing a large built-in user base through the institutions already using the company’s technology.

Merging classic classroom set-ups with the innovative technology allows for an easy entry point, giving quick integration and accessibility for institutions using Starlink’s products.

The Chinese tech firm looks to present a VR solution that can be applied to a number of different sectors, and is looking to fit multiple user-end purposes to create a comprehensive software platform.
