This week, immersive healthcare solutions provider Osso VR announced a strategic expansion roadmap that aims to scale targeted VR training services across pharmaceutical industry professionals and institutions.
The firm’s expansion roadmap covers the delivery of VR immersive learning content to the sector, which allows pharmaceutical professionals to understand sector-unique situations and disease state awareness through interactive 3D experiences; accessible via a VR headset.
To help pharmaceutical professionals get the most out of the platform, Osso VR also provides a patient library that helps them match and understand patient demographics for medications and treatment effects.
Heather Gervais, CEO of Osso VR, explained that “as pharmaceutical companies face the growing challenge of access to clinicians and educating patient populations, particularly as therapeutics become more complex, Osso VR offers a powerful, differentiated solution that can reshape commercial and clinical strategies.”
Gervais also said:
By addressing these shifting demands, we’re not just enabling better communication among stakeholders; we’re also committed to improving the healthcare experience for everyone involved, including better outcomes for patients.
To help healthcare professionals in pharmaceuticals and beyond, the Osso VR solution also contains deep metric and analytics considerations, which learners can access via personalized dashboards.
Moreover, these metrics also feed into “global reporting” that showcases a chosen programme’s effectiveness for potential healthcare users.
A Legacy of Learning
Osso VR’s most recent expansion into pharmaceutical training reflects a larger plan to bring the firm’s medical training library to other sector experts who specialize in orthopaedic surgery.
Earlier this year, Osso VR enhanced its graduate medical education training services by introducing five new modules to its training platform. These modules feature hyper-realistic content across various subspecialty areas, providing trainees access to a comprehensive orthopaedic virtual reality training library with over 30 modules.
Among the additions, Osso VR’s diagnostic knee arthroscopy model incorporates “Illustrative View,” an assessment tool available in the immersive operative suite and the Osso Analytics web platform, enabling users to visualize their performance and enhancing their understanding of anatomy.
Four other orthopaedic procedures, including supracondylar humerus fracture repair and carpal tunnel release, have been added alongside the arthroscopy module. These join other immersive learning content, such as bi-malleolar ankle fractures and femoral neck fractures.
The firm emphasizes that every module in the Osso Academy’s Premium Content Library is designed to meet the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Milestone and Case Minimum requirements. This alignment complements existing training curricula.
Osso VR’s solution plays a proactive role in training surgical professionals, serving as a preparatory step before participating in real-life operating room surgeries. This approach addresses challenges inherent in traditional educational models, such as travel constraints, scheduling issues, and collaborative obstacles.
