Fans of the popular enterprise virtual reality collaboration platform, Immersed, will now be able to access their iPad and iPhone devices within the simulated environment itself.
After downloading the Immersive iOS app from the Apple store, users will now be able to stream mirrored images of their iPhones, Tablets, and Macbooks into the app and interact with them just like they would in real-life.
The idea is that the user becomes, as the platform’s name implies, truly “immersed,” meaning they’ll no longer have to exit the virtual realities to check messages or store contact details from people they meet up with in the app.
While no official date has yet been given, Immersed has confirmed it is planning to release an Android version over the coming weeks, and the waiting list is now open for all interested parties.
Elsewhere, Immersed reports to have raised over $4.5M via WeFunder funding to further expand its platform into broader markets, with less than $500K to go before it reaches its goal.
Commenting on the platform, Immersed Founder & CEO/CTO, Renji Bijoy, states: “Every software development team I’ve ever been on or led has had the issue of video-conferencing/chat just not being the same as working together in-person, side-by-side, whiteboarding, pair-programming, etc.”
“We want to solve this problem, not because we love remote work, but because we hate it and want to make remote work more like in-person,” he adds.
Stay tuned for more information on what Immersed VR has planned for this funding, along with a run down on all the features of its Android app after its release sometime over the next few weeks.
