Immersed, a virtual reality workspace designed by Quest, recently introduced a new feature for business users. A new virtual keyboard overlay ensures that team members don’t have to guess at where their keyboard is when they’re typing with a VR headset on.

Founded with the belief that humanity should be able to break free from the physical restraints of the traditional office, Immersed is actively investing in new technology to improve and enhance all kinds of work. The Immersed virtual workspace supports productivity in remote environments and brings teams together for better collaboration wherever they are.

Immersed virtual reality workspace has been making waves in the enterprise environment for a while now. Allowing companies to see the benefit of tools like the Oculus Quest for workplace experiences, Immersed is opening new doors to productivity and business efficiency.

Introducing a New Kind of Workspace

The Immersed VR application wireless integrates with your computer to give you an expansive workspace experience wherever you are, through the power of virtual reality. Immersed offers functionality from multi-user shared environments and shared displays, to multi-screen computing. There’s even the option to use immersed virtual webcams to join meetings as a digital avatar.

Despite all the unique advantages of the Immersed workspace, users have regularly struggled with a significant problem regarding keyboard use. If someone needed to type notes or enter text into a virtual workspace computer in VR, they couldn’t look down and see their keyboard. Typing with a virtual reality headset on can be a disorienting experience – and it removes some of the immersion involved in being in a virtual landscape.

Fortunately, the new virtual keyboard overlay from Immersed solves this common problem, by allowing you to see your keyboard virtually represented in your workplace. You can type easily with your headset on, without having to fumble blindly to find the right keys.

How Does it Work?

Immersed is a workspace designed to work specifically with the Oculus environment. Similarly, the Immersed Virtual Keyboard Overlay works alongside the Quest headset’s hand-tracking features, so you can see virtual fingers typing on your keyboard while you’re actually making notes and sending messages in the real world.

The Immersed virtual keyboard overlay helps to eliminate unnecessary typing mistakes, while simultaneously maintaining the immersion that employees can feel in a virtual workspace. The Immersed workspace, complete with the virtual keyboard overlay feature, is available to access within the Facebook Oculus store.

The basic version of the service is available for free, and offers remote access to Linux, Windows, and Mac computers. Additional collaborative features require a paid subscription.
