Leading VR hardware developer HTC VIVE recently announced the launch of its latest generation of VIVE trackers (VIVE Tracker 3.0), along with a new VIVE Facial Tracker designed to enhance the user’s immersive experience tenfold.

The VIVE Tracker 3.0 includes many new and exciting updates on the original model released back in 2017 – including up to 75% increase in battery life, a 15% reduction in weight, and a 33% smaller footprint for added portability, flexibility, and comfort when using for extended periods.

When launching the product, VIVE stated that the Tracker 3.0 is its best and most powerful VR tracker to date, creating a seamless connection between real objects and the virtual experience.

Using cutting-edge-tracking technology, the new add-on can capture full-body movement with pinpoint accuracy, adding more texture and realism to virtual reality experiences for both consumers and enterprise users alike.

Users will also integrate the VIVE Tracker 3.0 with a wide range of external devices and platforms with ease, including the Steam VR2.0 and 1.0 tracking tools and all SteamVR compatible headsets.

The device will also integrate instantly with all previous generations of VIVE Trackers and software, ensuring no existing investments are compromised.

In addition to the 3.0 Tracker, VIVE also announced the release of its new VIVE Facial Tracker, a tool that developers can now use to leverage all the complex nuances of human facial expressions in virtual environments.

During the announcement, VIVE stated this new facial tracker could seamlessly track 38 facial movements across the lips, jaw, teeth, tongue, chin, and cheeks giving a highly accurate real-time depiction of facial expressions.

In terms of customer engagement and how organizations choose to interact with their target market pushing forward, VIVEs latest facial tracker could prove a powerful tool in helping businesses improve customer experience in the future.

Both trackers are now open for sale, priced at 129 GBP / 180 USD.
