Leading provider of premium enterprise virtual reality experiences, HTC Vive, recently announced a range of new capabilities for their all-in-one headset. The VIVE Focus Plus is the sensational VR headset designed with the needs of the enterprise in mind. Now, new features are rolling out to address the security and operational concerns of the modern business.

Updates include the arrival of device management solutions from MobileIron and VMware, which allow companies to remotely manage devices, settings, and applications, as well as using existing licenses or obtaining them directly. According to EMEA General Manager of HTC VIVE, Graham Wheeler, there’s an increasing demand for new commercial VR solutions around the world, driven by remote work requirements. By supporting new solutions like VPN, HTC VIVE can ensure that customers can collaborate safely using the VR solutions that work for them.

Vive Focus Plus enterprise updates include:

  • Mobile device management through MobileIron and VMWare
  • Addition of in-built VPN and offline operation capabilities
  • Screen recording functionality for training and collaboration
  • Enhanced screen sharing through Miracast for Windows 10
  • Kiosk mode to transform Vive Focus Plus into a fixed-purpose device
  • App restriction and distraction hiding options

According to Director of Business Development for MobileIron, the new capabilities offered on the Vive Focus Plus, will allow enterprises to take control of devices in a more mobile-centric and secure environment.

A New Future for Enterprise Extended Reality

With HTC now focusing more heavily on the enterprise market, companies will soon have access to a more advanced strategies for collaboration and team management. The Vive Focus Plus will give today’s forward-thinking companies the opportunity to access a standalone headset that meets the unique needs of organisations worldwide.

Fresnel lenses offer sharper visuals for customers, with a reduced “screen door” effect, so you can feel as though you’re stepping into a crisp new world. The headset comes with power from the sensational VIVE WAVE platform, which also had a fantastic update this month. The upgraded SDK now comes with streamlined development processes for XR solutions using the Wave Unity XR plugin, or the new plugins for Unreal Engine 4.25 AND 4.24. Users can also enjoy reduced development iteration time with shader stripping and bundle preview tools.

The new SDK version comes with hand-tracking and gesture API support, passthrough support which allows users to see the real world instantly, and adaptive quality with foveated rendering enabled by default.
