First VR Simulator Qualified by EU Aviation Safety Agency

Flight schools and helicopter companies to increase flight safety with VR technology

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has officially qualified a VR-based training solution for aviation training for the first time in its history.

The helicopter pilot simulator developed and built by VRM Switzerland features Varjo’s latest human-eye resolution VR headsets, Varjo VR-3 along with unique technology developed by the Swiss flight training solution provider.

The first EASA Approved VR simulator allows pilots to take advantage of the high training value and flexibility of the immersive solution and have the virtual training time credited to their flight training. Any customers of VRM Switzerland can start using the VR training solution with no further national certification according to EASA regulations.

Flight schools and helicopter companies will now be able to use the latest technology to increase flight safety, offer more cost-effective training solutions and train in a more environmentally friendly way, at any time.
