Virtual reality (VR) communications platform ENGAGE announced this month it had released its v1.9, complete with numerous updates to improve functionality.
According to a press release, v1.9 will be available to macOS device users, allowing people to use the platform’s ENGAGE Editor to create sequences for hosting events.
The latest release also features an additional seven locations for hosting events based on user needs, including two throne rooms, a sky hotel, woodland campfire, Paris meeting space, and others.
ENGAGE has also added support for three additional VR headsets, including the VIVE Focus 3, VIVE Pro 2, and Pico Neo 3, along with nearly 20 others.
The company also improved the platform with several key bug fixes, including voice over internet protocol (VoIP) sound quality and echo cancellation, crucial security and stability tweaks, as well as resolving deep link, wrist tracking, Valve Index streaming, and video playback issues.
Users can download v1.9 at ENGAGE’s website.
The news comes after the platform’s parent company, Immersive VR Education, announced in March it raised roughly EUR 3 million in capital from VR tech giant HTC, with the funds aimed at developing the platform and building marketing capacity amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Investment in the Irish firm’s VR platform comes as businesses and organisations rely on immersive solutions to minimise disruptions to their operations as governments tackle the virus.
