What has been your business/work highlight of 2024 so far?
A few things! Nominated for three awards for the Immersive Wire, and wrote an impactful piece on the download rates of the Apple Vision Pro. Things are ticking along, and the newsletter is a good case of enjoying the process over the goal.
Who is your business hero and why?
Shigeru Miyamoto. The man represents focusing on fun over many other aspects of business, and Nintendo has grown rapidly based on that core vision. That’s something I am deeply inspired by.
What’s the biggest business mistake you’ve made and what did you learn from it?
Having two brands. One was the Immersive Wire, and the other was Virtual Perceptions. Both were way too confusing, so I collapsed them into one for the sake of simplicity.
What’s the most inspirational book you’ve ever read and why?
Hard one. I am usually more of a fiction man, so the First Binding really brought me in to a Silk Road narrative. That was a great read which I recommend for the upcoming summer.
What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role in 2024?
Getting enough sleep.
What technology will have the greatest impact on your business this year and why?
Probably my laptop, let’s be honest.Got to keep it simple!
