What has been your business/work highlight of 2024 so far?

Commercially demonstrating that personalized product experiences can be built once, and effectively scaled across open web Ads, eCommerce, DOOH, Live Shopping, CTV+ and on-premise Retail to interactively enhance the customer experience.

Who is your business hero and why?

David Packard. In addition to making garages cool for bootstrapped startups, he was an engineer, an innovator, civil servant, philanthropist and CEO who founded a built to last company and HP Way culture that respected people, encouraged teamwork achievement and innovation, and shaped Silicon Valley and beyond.

What’s the biggest business mistake you’ve made and what did you learn from it?

Not changing product and market direction earlier for fear of alienating internal and external stakeholders. I learned not to hesitate, and let early customer signals (aka product market fit) focus all of the company’s energy, time and efforts.

What’s the most inspirational book you’ve ever read and why?

The One Device by Brian Merchant, because it illustrates that great products aren’t ordained, but are willed into existence by pioneering people who collaborate against all odds and challenges to ship products that shape culture.

What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role in 2024?

Meeting the high demand for intelligent, automated, spatial personalisation services that require novel solutions without precedent.

What technology will have the greatest impact on your business this year and why?

The combined advancement of Large Vision Models (LVMs), Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), Diffusion Models, Shape Reconstructors, and relational Texturing. Such deep learning techniques hold the potential to algorithmically generate realistic 3D models from product photography to lower the time and cost to deliver hyper realistic live virtual try-on (LVTO) across omnichannel touchpoints.
