What was your business highlight of 2024?
My first book, The Extended Reality Blueprint, was released in April of 2024. Since its launch, I’ve heard such incredible feedback from both industry folks, as well as people who want to explore the field of XR. From business leaders to students, I’m so pleased to see that this resource I put out into the world is bringing more visibility to technology that I love and have dedicated my career to.
What XR-leaning event are you most looking forward to in 2025?
There are so many events coming up, but I’m especially looking forward to attending my first Industrial Immersive conference in March. And to make things even better, I’ll be speaking alongside one of my clients, Mars, and one of my partners, ArborXR, about one of the strongest case studies this industry has ever seen!
What was your dream job when you were growing up?
I wanted to be an architect, and while I’m not building physical homes or buildings, I’m managing the creation of virtual spaces, so close enough!
What was your favourite film/TV show of 2024?
I love reality TV and The Traitors has been (and continues to be) one of my favorite shows of recent years. It’s so dramatic but there is strategy behind all the complex moves the players make in an incredibly social game, and I’m here for it!
What’s the biggest challenge you face in 2025?
My company, Futurus, is launching our first licensed product, XR Industrial, in Q2 of 2025. Releasing the product will be our biggest challenge, but I’m excited for what it means for the future of the company, and the industry! We’ve already sold licenses ahead of launch which is promising to me as a business owner. I think one of the challenges is how to classify the product because it sits at the intersection of custom and off-the-shelf VR training solutions. These are good challenges! I can’t wait to see what the industry thinks of the product and expand the solution for additional markets outside of industrial safety training.
If you had to learn one new skill, what would it be?
I’m in the middle of it right now, and it’s learning how to scale a licensed product.
What are your personal XR-related 2025 ambitions/goals?
I’d like to get my hands on any and all hardware that will hit the market this year! I find the best way to consult with a client on which solution is the best fit for their use case is to be fully informed on the options. And if it wasn’t clear from my other answers, I personally hope to launch the best new VR safety training product for industrial companies. Cheers to the future!
