What has been your business/work highlight of 2024 so far?

Joining Booz Allen as an Executive Advisor across Digital Twin and Spatial Computing! It’s within Booz Allen’s CTO – Bright Labs – their applied R&D. It’s a team of incredible technologists!

Who is your business hero and why?

Jensen Huang!
NVIDIA is the 3rd most valuable company in the world after meteoric growth in the last 3 years. It would not surprise me if they overtake Microsoft and Apple to become #1.
Their vision for AI, real-time simulation and digital twins has catapulted them to the forefront of the next wave of business and technology.

What’s the biggest business mistake you’ve made and what did you learn from it?

My biggest mistake was trying to be all things to any kind of client. I started EndeavorXR is late 2014 and because we were so small, we went after the broadest base of potential clients with an even broader capability offering.
We worked with startups, SMB, Enterprises, even VCs and Accelerators. It became unmanageable.

So in 2015, I distilled the focus:
VR for Enterprise

And the client base:
Fortune 500 companies (including the hardware OEMs)

Once we had a steady stream of clients and projects, then we slowly expanded our capabilities (and SMEs) into Blockchain and AI. We still remain focused on Fortune 500 clients, but we do also have a handful of well-funded startups.

EndeavorXR will hit the 10 year mark at the end of 2024 – so this strategy has worked for us!

What’s the most inspirational book you’ve ever read and why?

Oooh so many! I don’t really think in terms of the superlative ‘BEST’. I read (read = audiobooks) mostly to learn about new ideas, or take deeper dives into technology, science, philosophy – whatever is of interest at that moment in time.

I’m currently listening to Life 3.0 by Max Tegmark. I highly recommend getting the audiobook and listening to the first 45 minutes! You’ll just have to trust me….

What’s the biggest challenge you face in your role in 2024?

My business challenges are exhilarating! My biggest challenge is managing all the travel – I did 300 hotel night in 2023 – Im trying not to repeat that this year.

What technology will have the greatest impact on your business this year and why?

I suspect most will say A.I. – and I think that’s true. I’m fascinated by how all emerging technologies are evolving so rapidly.

I think the greatest impact will come as we learn to harness these technologies to benefit humanity – give us more power over our own physical and emotional well-being, advance our cognitive capabilities and hopefully inspire us to create better models for education, economics and equality – really everything!

We are on the brink of unlocking boundless human potential.
