This 2017 founded VR collaboration company recently closed $1.7 million in funding, in August 2020. The company is young, and relatively small, but boasts of users across Amazon, Dialpad, and the University of California.

Its primary goal is to recreate the intimacy of close collaboration in virtual environments when working together in groups while ensuring a focused experience when working independently.

The solution is compatible with Linux, and, of course, Windows desktops, not to mention VR headsets like Quest. ImmersedVR even has an upcoming “lightweight” version that will introduce Raspberry Pi compatibility.

So, is ImmersedVR the right VR-based collaboration solution for you? Let us review its features in more detail.

What are the Key Features of ImmersedVR?

ImmersedVR’s biggest USP is its ability to work in one of two modes – solo or collaboration. This means that you can stay logged into the platform across your workday, without having to switch if you want to engage in solo work.

Private workspaces

In solo mode, you can enjoy a private workspace that lets you “hyper-focus” for hours on end. The workspace eliminates any distractions and can support up to 5 virtual monitors, entirely in VR. In other words, you can expand the existing display for your productivity needs without investing in additional hardware.

Collaboration with 4+ participants

Outside of the solo mode, more than 4 people can join you in a virtual room for synchronous collaboration. In this room, you can share multiple screens, access a sherd whiteboard, and even type on someone else’s keyboard using VR.

Offline mode

This is a unique feature where social media integrations like Facebook or Twitter are turned off. You get all other collaboration capabilities like voice chat, screen sharing, whiteboarding, and persistent spaces, but cannot access social media.

Prebuilt virtual spaces

ImmersedVR recreates popular work environments like coffee shops and co-working locations, where you can meet with your colleagues exactly as you would in the physical world. The company has further customisability penned down in the roadmap and hopes to introduce customisable workspaces very soon.

What are the Benefits of Using ImmersedVR?

The ImmersedVR platform for virtual collaboration comes with several nifty capabilities that are sure to boost your productivity. When recreating desktop screens in virtual reality, it maintains high resolution and lag-free (zero latency) rendering, for an incredibly seamless experience. The most premium tier of the platform supports advanced integrations to define enterprise workflows, giving you that little bit of automation that you need for everyday efficiency.

Finally, the ability to interact with your colleagues’ displays across multiple screens makes it easier to share information, explain a point, and brainstorm ideas.

How Much Does It Cost?

ImmersedVR is available at an introductory price of $14.99 per month for small teams and $29.99 per user per month for mid-to-large-sized teams. There is also a free version that comes without focus mode, whiteboarding, or customisation.

As ImmersedVR continues to add to its capability suite, these prices are subject to change, so it is a good time to invest if you are looking at a greenfield VR collaboration implementation at your company.
