Qualcomm, the tech giants whose processors power many of the world’s leading VR headsets and AR smart glasses, recently announced their XR for Enterprise Program has more than doubled its membership since launching in 2019.

During this program, Qualcomm invites both hardware and software developers from across the extended reality spectrum to learn, share, network, and do everything possible to accelerate the XR ecosystem and transform the way people work and live.

So far this year, we’ve seen notable XR vendors like Glue, Talespin, and Joinpad join the ranks, with many more expected to follow suit over the next 12 months and beyond – but what exactly is the Qualcomm XR for Enterprise Program all about?

Let’s take a look below to find out.

What is the Qualcomm XR for Enterprise Program?

The Qualcomm XR for Enterprise Program is part of the Qualcomm Advantage Network designed to help enterprise XR developers access all the tools, resources, and support they need to grow their businesses and create better customer solutions.

“The Qualcomm XR Enterprise Program (XEP) is designed to accelerate the adoption of XR in a broad range of industries. The program offers XEP members access to a global community of resources, co-marketing opportunities, business development, and visibility into Qualcomm’s upcoming hardware and software roadmap and product features,” said Brian Vogelsang, senior director of product management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc

“We currently have 60+ XEP members spanning architecture, AEC, aerospace, automotive, education, energy, entertainment, healthcare, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, retail, transportation, and travel. We look forward to continuing to grow our membership to help advance XR technology within the enterprise,” he adds.

Overall, the company’s goal for the program is to build collaborative relationships with hardware and software developers in the XR space and drive AR and VR adoption across various industries. The program will also help determine the best strategy businesses can adopt to optimize their customers’ performance and productivity while reducing operational costs and improving accuracy.

According to Qualcomm official sources, the Qualcomm XR for Enterprise Program offers three significant benefits to members:

Increased business opportunities

During the program, Qualcomm focuses on nurturing collaborative business opportunities with and among member companies. Members will also receive priority access to co-marketing opportunities for amplification of collaboration results.

Insights to compete at the leading edge

As leaders in the extended reality marketplace, Qualcomm uses its experience and huge data network to drive excellence and innovation by providing its members with insights into all the latest AR and VR trends. Members will receive advanced briefings of XR product roadmaps so they can stay ahead of the curve and win over more customers with ground-breaking innovations.

Faster time to commercialization

Finally, Qualcomm XR for Enterprise Program also offers members access to resources, such as reference design hardware, to help accelerate development and bring their products to market more swiftly. Qualcomm also provides members with user experience feedback and recommendations through the product development cycle.

How to join Qualcomm XR for Enterprise Program?

The Qualcomm XR for Enterprise Program is open to any companies that offer, sell, and recommend Qualcomm XR powered technologies such as the Oculus Quest 2, the Vuzix M4000, the RealWear HMT-1, and many other market-leading XR products.

To apply for membership, users will need to create a Qualcomm ID and fill in the relevant details regarding their business type and goals. Qualcomm will then review the application over several days and accept or decline it based on the information submitted.
