Immersive mobile extended reality (XR) startup VITURE wrapped up a Series A fundraiser worth more than $10 million, the company revealed on Tuesday.

BAI Capital and Verity Ventures led funding in a bid to boost the company’s One XR smart glasses and develop its research and development (R&D).

The last three fundraisers over the last year have earned the startup over $15 million in capital, leading to a Fast Company 2022 Innovation by Design Award for its One XR smart glasses.

The news comes after the company earned over $3 million USD via a Kickstarter campaign, receiving the highest level of funding for crowdfunded XR device, topping the Oculus Rift.

Comments on Series A Funding

David Jiang, Co-Founder and Chief Executive of VITURE, said that his company aimed to build a “truly mobile era of entertainment.”

He added,

“We appreciate our investors believing in the product and the team, this funding will help us set the standard for next-level digital entertainment for years to come”

Annabelle Long, Founding and Managing Partner of BAI Capital, added that VIRTUE offered an “unparalleled visual and interactive experience” for gamers backed by VR.

Such innovations created a “new paradigm of interactive entertainment for the cloud computing era,” she added.

Concluding, she said,

“We highly value VITURE team’s innovation capability and believe in the synergies with BAI’s Metaverse portfolio and Bertelsmann’s content business.”

VITURE One XR Specs

The lightweight, compact form factor VITURE One XR will allow gamers and immersive reality enthusiasts to access a headset with just 78 grammes, cloud gaming, Harman spatial audio, and others.

The smart glasses also offer the world’s first tint-changing lenses with touch-button level adjustments in all lighting settings.

Users can stream content from their favourite gaming consoles, including Steam VR, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, and XBOX. It also offers connectivity to Apple TV and other movie streaming platforms for watching the latest films on demand.

VITURE One XR smart glasses are on preorder for $479 USD, with shipments starting in December.

VITURE Updates, Competition

The news comes after the head-mounted display showcased at the 2022 Material Matters Design Fair, hosted by the London Design Festival this week.

Hosted by event partner LAYER, VITURE said it was “incredibly proud” of its work with the company to produce new designs.

It added,

“Thank you to all who came to browse the displays and show support throughout the event!”

Rival firms have begun targeting mid-range, compact form factor immersive devices, namely after HTC VIVE released its VIVE Flow smart goggles for entertainment and personal health.

The Taoyuan City-based company announced an Enterprise Edition of the smart goggles for training, working, and remote collaboration for numerous verticals such as healthcare, education, and upskilling.
