Varjo Technologies is teasing fans ahead of its upcoming product release on October 21 with a hidden message on a recent Twitter video post.

At six seconds, the Finnish mixed reality (MR) firm hid the message “Varjo for All” in a group of jumbled letters.

In the same post, Varjo claims the product launch will “raise virtual reality (VR) to new heights.”

There is not much known about Varjo’s long-awaited product lineup as the company is keeping the news a secret and, unlike HTC Vive, no leaks have emerged to reveal the product.

Varjo is a leader in industrial XR with its powerful VR-3 and XR-3 headsets for enterprise, and rumours persist that a consumer-grade wearable may be under development.

While cryptic, Varjo’s messages also hint at further updates on the firm’s ‘Reality Cloud’ platform.

Debuting on the company’s XR-3 devices last June, Varjo’s ‘virtual teleportation’ feature uses the headset’s external cameras and embedded LiDAR scanners to stream digital twins of any environment as a shared virtual space.

Consumer-Grade Mixed Reality

The news comes as tech firms introduce augmented reality (AR) to audiences, with many brands raising awareness on webAR platforms such as Snapchat, 8th Wall, and Poplar Studio.

In response to a rise in AR adoption, consumer MR and AR solutions are also increasing.

US tech giant Facebook is jumping into the XR market by rebranding itself as a Metaverse firm, hiring 16,000 EU engineers and hinting at a new VR headset ahead of its Connect Event later this month.

Facebook rival Apple Inc is also securing various technology patents for its upcoming and delayed MR headset. Microsoft also plans to release its consumer-grade Hololens 3 at a reduced cost in 2024.
