Tenstar Simulation are using Varjo XR-3 headset technology. Developing and implementing flexible and cost-effective XR vehicle simulations at SOMA college in the Netherlands.

Here Tenstar have integrated a selection of 23 vehicles, offered across a spectrum of businesses.

“Take a look under the hood, and you’ll find what makes us stand out and deliver more effective products than our competitors.” – Fredrik Alexandersson, Senior Developer.

With a 10-year working partnership alongside SOMA college. There are 18 Tesnstar simulators installed at the institution; with upgrades being ordered regularly according to Tenstar.

Aiming towards the Construction, Transportation, Traffic, Agriculture and Forestry sectors. Tenstar gives the ability for teachers to combine several vehicles or machines into one XR device.

There are various simulators are set up at SOMA College, giving their teachers a perfect training tool. Challenging students and introducing them to various stages of learning, at the teacher’s pace.

Allowing SOMA teachers to define learning steps more specifically. Giving teachers a way to trickle down more advanced teachings, more effectively. Combining and refining their teaching tools to produce successfully trained workers. Who are ready as soon as they step out of the simulation.

Saving businesses 5-10 Euros per hour and accounting for only 3% of the environmental impact. When compared to a real excavator for example. Tenstar can save colleges money, multiple students can be mentored at once in a, safer, classroom environment. Rather than on site.

Both desktop and mobile simulator units are available. Tenstar are diverse enough to allow teachers to adapt the available hardware to their individual training methods, spaces and priorities.

The Future for Tenstar:

Their 2021 brochure on their driving school and car simulations, gives an outline on one their extensive programmes. Giving students the ability to practice in dangerous wet conditions or practice driving at night. In the same brochure, Tenstar show that they are implementing a new text to speech voice assistance for users with reading disadvantages.

The accessibility of the device will only grow; allowing for further integration in colleges worldwide.
