Last week, Siemens, in collaboration with enterprise XR software provider BILT, leveraged Apple Vision Pro headsets to provide on-site electricians with XR instructional overlays. The partnership also gives BILT a place as the newest member of its Xcelerator Ecosystem for scaling enterprise XR solutions.
Andreas Matthé, CEO of Electrical Products at Siemens Smart Infrastructure, noted that the partnership “is a great example of how we are maximizing digitalization to enable the next generation of electricians.”
Siemans and BILT are developing the 3D Intelligent Instructions solution, which provides immersive and visual training to help individuals entering the workplace or those looking to learn new skills.
BILT on Vision Pro
BILT’s Vision Pro solution allows frontline workers to collaborate over digital twins using the device’s ultra-high-resolution display, eye tracking, hand tracking, and voice commands to interact with the virtual object.

The platform, therefore, enables workers to interact with digital twins, such as accessing animated step-by-step assembly instructions and other asset integration tools.
Andreas Matthé also added:
[The] ability to pick a digital representation of electrical equipment and work with it in the physical space in front of you, transforms the educational experience, creating a safer, low cost and innovative way of learning.
Peter Koerte, Siemens Chief Technology Officer, noted that “closing the skills gap” and “empowering the next generation of electricians” is a core aim for Siemens.
Siemens notes that it plans to introduce further BILT/Apple Vision Pro services in the future with consideration to Siemens’s smart home energy management products.

The BILT partnership also debuts the XR solutions provider in Siemens’ Xcelerator Ecosystem and Marketplace – an ecosystem enabling businesses to leverage various innovative enterprise services.
Koerte also remarked that partnerships with firms like BILT are “revolutionising the learning experience. “We are excited to welcome BILT as the newest partner in our Siemens Xcelerator ecosystem — further expanding our transformative workforce offerings together,” Koerte added.
Siemens notes that the Xcelerator Ecosystem and Marketplace help to accelerate digital transformation, training, scaling, and enterprise understanding.
