Fresh renders of Apple’s anticipated mixed reality (MR) headset have surfaced on social media, offering fans a teaser ahead of the product’s expected release date next year, 9to5 Mac reported on Monday.

Using data published by The Information in February this year, Concept Designer Ian Zelbo released several renders of the long-awaited headset, which he calls “Apple View.”

According to reports, Apple could potentially release the head-mounted display (HMD) in the fourth quarter (Q4) next year along with new iPhones and other product launches.

Rumour Updates on Apple Headset

The latest render comes after Industry Analyst Ming Chi-Kuo stated in an investor note that Apple hoped to release the device but faced production setbacks due to strict company design requirements.

He stated Apple aimed to create numerous applications for the headset, rather than performing as a gaming device as the design was set to remain “much higher than competitors’ products.”

In further reports, he added the device would shift to a tetherless design, countering previous rumours.

The headset was originally expected to mass-produce in the second quarter of next year, but was later pushed back as the Cupertino-based firm aimed to conduct additional testing, according to the update.

Apple also filed a series of patents with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in recent months, which included improved user interfaces, air conditioning, and biometric tracking, among many others.
