AWE EU 2024 continues to highlight the leading XR announcements and advancements. The latest news from the event highlights a cross-platform mixed-reality collaboration solution from Photon.
The AWE EU Photon announcements include two multi-user services optimising immersive worker collaboration.
Photon is introducing Fusion Sticky Notes Cross-Platform Remote Relocation and Fusion Sticky Notes Meta SSA Colocalization, two services that leverage the firm’s first-party Fusion multiplayer networking engine.
The Fusion Sticky Notes solution aims to enable seamless enterprise collaboration within MR workspaces that users can view on various devices, such as an Apple Vision Pro. Moreover, workers can draw 3D assets and manipulate shared sticky note content in real-time, synchronised even when workers are on different devices.
Photon’s immersive collaboration solutions also integrate the Logitech MX Ink for Meta Quest, an MR stylus accessory the firm explicitly made for the Meta Quest headset portfolio. This accessory allows users to annotate and interact with a 3D space.
The MX Ink product is compatible with Meta Quest 2, 3, and 3S. It is available in three different models: MX Ink ($129.99), MX Ink + MX Inkwell Combo ($169.99), and MX Mat ($49.99).
With the Fusion Sticky Notes Meta SSA Colocalization solution, Photon can deliver a simplified solution that streamlines the user experience on Meta Quest devices by leveraging Meta’s Shared Spatial Anchors (SSA) technology for precise virtual asset alignment.
