Nonvoice, the world’s first 5G app agency, announced this week it had partnered with volumetric video firm Omnivor to develop apps using augmented and virtual reality (VR/AR) technologies.

The partnership aims to create real-time holographic experiences which will allow users to control the view of a live action video with 360 degree views.

Omnivor offers turnkey solutions for developing and streaming 3D holographic content, allowing users to distribute content across all devices such as mobile phones, laptops, VR headsets, and 3D displays.

Abhay Mahajan, Chief Business Officer at Omnivor, said:

“The scope of our technology means that it can be used in many industries such as advertising, retail and e-commerce, marketing, education, training, enterprise collaboration, live communications and much more”

Simon Buckingham, Nonvoice Chief Executive, added the platform was an “absolute game changer” for the volumetric video industry.

“We have already seen the advent of new video technologies for the 5G market but Ominvor is next level. We are excited to be able to offer this to our network of telecommunications operators around the world”

App requests to Nonvoice reportedly skyrocketed in 2021, which included clients such as solar energy firm PowerMarket, MR online retail company VWRCH, and proprietary waveform baseband software firm Spectral DSP.

The developments come days after Nextech AR announced it would launch its HoloX creator platform for AR holographic content, backed by non-fungible tokens, in the third fiscal quarter this year.

The Toronto, Canada-based firm later revealed it would integrate its platform into the Microsoft HoloLens 2, which will be released in September this year, adding the device will provide eye tracking and gesture controls for the HoloX user interface and experience.
