Today Colorintech, a non-profit organisation promoting diversity and inclusion in technology industries, launched a Metaverse program to support UK immersive firms. With leading XR firm Meta, the program will nurture over 200 UK businesses to scale the region’s immersive products, tools and services.

The partnership’s ‘100 Worlds in 100 Days‘ Metaverse program seeks applicants for new ideas and concepts from start-ups and established companies. Colorintech is leading the program to promote diversity and inclusion in the UK immersive industry.

Moreover, Meta is backing the project by providing roughly 50 hours of free resources, support, and guidance to scale the regional development of XR experiences and business ideas.

Nick Clegg, the President, Global Affairs at Meta, added:

The metaverse has enormous potential to transform how we work, learn, communicate, and experience the world around us. We want it to be for everyone. To make this a reality, it needs to be a collaborative approach. We are proud to support Colorintech and partnerships like this to ensure we’re building the metaverse responsibly and inclusively from the start.

Scaling XR in the UK

The ‘100 Worlds in 100 Days’ Metaverse program follows Colorintech’s mission to address diversity and inclusion in the technology industry via training, mentorship, and networking opportunities for underrepresented groups.

The firm’s XR-specific program also aims to assist in Colorintech goals. The program will provide its successful applicants with opportunities in addition to Meta’s offerings, like workshops, webinars, and community networking events.

Colorintech’s program offering also aims to provide applicants with the skills, tools, and knowledge required to build a successful immersive solution.

Ashleigh Ainsley, the Co-Founder of Colorintech, added:

We’re excited that one of the world’s most innovative companies Meta has again chosen to prioritise diversity and inclusion as one of the key pillars of its investment in the metaverse through this new programme. We believe that the metaverse has the potential to bring people together and grow business opportunities in new and meaningful ways, and we are committed to helping more people build new platforms that are accessible and importantly, inclusive.

Interested UK immersive firms can now apply for the ‘100 Worlds in 100 Days’ Metaverse program. The program will educate over 200 companies. Then choosing from its applications, Colorintech will select 100 businesses to receive further training and guidance after the program period. The firm will then present its favourite ideas to a panel of industry experts for additional support.
