A leader in the mixed reality and augmented reality space, Magic Leap, today announced Tracey Trewin as its new Chief Product Officer.

As the first person to take on this newly formed role at the company, Trewin will guide the product and platform vision to define target scenarios that Magic Leap’s augmented reality platform can address for enterprise customers.

Trewin will also lead the product management, product research, data science, and product marketing teams to oversee product delivery in its entirety and ensure Magic Leap delivers the best possible solution to its customers.

Before Magic Leap, Trewin spent 25 years working with Microsoft, playing a vital role in incubating early-stage products into scale across the Microsoft spectrum, including everything from Visual Studio and Windows to Xbox and other technologies.

Speaking on Trewin’s current enrolment, Peggy Johnson, CEO of Magic Leap, added, “Tracey embodies the customer-centric, transformation-driven leadership we are building at Magic Leap.”

“She has a wealth of experience leading teams from incubation to delivering scale products. Her expertise in harmonizing hardware and software development in partnership with enterprise customers, and their engineering teams, will be a key component in our next phase of growth,” she added.

Since taking over as CEO of Magic Leap in August, Johnson has played a crucial role in transforming the company into an enterprise-focused brand – and her recent implementation of Trewin as CPO proves customer experience will be a vital part of the company’s strategy pushing forward.

In the official press release, Trewin states: “I am honored to join the leadership team at Magic Leap to be a part of redefining how engineers and enterprises can transform and elevate their business through augmented reality.”

“I’m looking forward to doing what I love most, helping developers and ISVs build incredible enterprise solutions on Magic Leap,” she added.
