Lenovo, the world’s largest computer manufacturer by sales, recently announced it had struck a major deal with FELTA MultiMedia systems to provide schools in the Philippines with digital tools and skills.

The deal will also provide hybrid technological solutions to empower learners and instructors with smart classrooms, leading to greater engagement and learner retention.

The US and China-based company will provide solutions via its EdVision programme to Filipino institutions to prepare students with vital solutions, including immersive technologies, to expand and increase engagement, facilitate greater collaboration and security, and “unlock the full potential of every student,” FELTA explained in a statement.

Mylene Abiva, FELTA president and Chief Executive, and Lenovo’s Philippines President Mike Ngan inked the contract with witnesses from both entities.

What is Lenovo’s EdVision Programme?

Lenovo’s esteemed EdVision programme provides schools with the tools needed to engage with next-generation curricula by providing laptops, software solutions, device management systems (DMS), and immersive technologies such as virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) for learners across all skill levels.

The programme offers a bespoke solution for institutions seeking to engage their learners with advanced, immersive hybrid classroom settings to educate future learners with industry-leading solutions from partner firms such as Intel and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Spaces.

EdVision also taps the tech giant’s Mirage VR S3 headsets, which provide classrooms with an all-in-one immersive solution complete with 4K resolutions, zero-touch DMS via Lenovo’s prestigious ThinkReality cloud platform, and tetherless functionality.

The programme also incorporates extended reality (XR) hardware and software to transform classroom settings into immersive learning spaces, where students can collaborate and engage creative content regardless of location or skill level.

Instructors can also command classroom headsets with LanSchool Air to control and monitor content distributed across devices, whether multiple or single devices, along with a host of immersive experiences for maths, science, and upskilling.

The news comes after XR Today interviewed a top Lenovo executive on the company’s ThinkReality A3 solution, which provides trusted AR headsets for industrial, professional, and educational purposes.

The company has also joined forces with Finnish XR leader Varjo to distribute the latter’s VR-3 and XR-3 XR devices to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following a massive strategic sales alliance.
