Japanese virtual reality (VR) software developers ‘Psychic VR Lab’ debuted its creative cloud service on the VIVEPORT storefront, the company announced on Monday.

The free platform offers mixed reality (MR) developers and artists an intuitive MR space to design and distribute immersive content such as art, fashion, and performance pieces.

Originally a browser-based platform, STYLY cloud is now ready for VIVE users, who can access a number of applications.

STYLY is available on HTC devices, where users can work in over 10,000 unique VR scenes designed to provide MR and VR artists a space to experience their own and others’ custom immersive experiences.

Showcasing in VR Space

The Tokyo-based development team launched the STYLY platform along with several supporting applications on the VIVEPORT storefront to provide the best in MR content creation.

Powering the STYLY platform is a set of NEWVIEW community focused applications, offering VR creatives a place to showcase different types of immersive content.

  1. NEWVIEW Featuring Works Collection: This community project curates STYLY art pieces, covering fashion, music, video, graphics, illustration, and more in a VR space for others to enjoy.
  2. NEWVIEW 2020 Virtual Exhibition: Here, STYLY highlights the collaborative works of 12 immersive artists who reached the finals of the NEWVIEW 202o awards.
  3. VR Music World: Finally, this application showcases five VR music projects and currently features VR music videos, virtual singers, and the Enclosure installation art piece.

Accessing STYLY on the HTC VIVE

The STYLY creative cloud service is available across numerous head-mounted devices (HMD) and browser platforms, and aims to expand coverage to include the latest HTC VIVE Focus 3 headset.

The new HTC headset comes with unrivalled technical specifications and dedicated support for individuals, and includes Vive XR Suite for business integration.

With support from Qualcomm’s powerful Snapdragon XR2 chipset, the Focus 3 HMD can reach a massive 5K display, 90Hz refresh rate, and an ultra-wide 120 degree field of view.

Additionally, the Japanese creative cloud service was released on Nreal hardware earlier this year to mark STYLY’s MR debut.

The launch of STYLY Studio for Nreal marked the first dedicated MR creation suite on Nreal’s product lineup, fuelling a content creation ecosystem for Nreal hardware to increase market awareness as the Chinese startup attempts to enter North American territories.
