Ubitus, a Tokyo, Japan-based company specialising in cloud gaming solutions, has struck a deal with Korea Telecom Corp (KT Corp) and national behemoth Daewoo to open the latter’s Prugio Metagallery.

The new metaverse platform will provide real-time virtual tours of properties from the South Korean giant, allowing potential buyers to walk through virtual properties without in-person visits.

Daewoo’s Prugio Metagallery aims to provide access to its entire property lineup, significantly opening its catalogue to a larger group of clients and potential buyers along with bespoke viewing options.

The partnership hopes to boost sales volumes more rapidly and efficiently by boosting interest in available properties. Daewoo can deploy its solution easily with an in-game engine using high definition render pipelines, leading to a fully-scalable and immersive property viewing solution.

The platform also leverages Ubitus’s Gamecloud solution to stream properties from anywhere, at any time, to offer 360-degree property views across all devices, with KT’s cloud gaming infrastructure, the companies said in a press statement.

Wesley Kuo, Chief Executive of Ubitus, said in a statement on Thursday,

“As an innovator in the market, Daewoo has been dedicated in smart home for years by utilizing technology and their knowledge in construction. It is our pleasure to work with KT and support Daewoo Prugio Metagallery. We believe this cutting-edge project will greatly assist property touring and simulate interests in the long-run”

The news comes months after XR Today spoke with EnvisionVR’s Michael Shaw and Amy Farrington, who revealed their company’s off-the-plan property viewing solution, which saw a significant jump in use amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Australian firm had begun developing the technology in 2018 in a bid to translate 2D floor plans into virtual, immersive property viewings for clients, which received considerable praise from users.
