ThirdEye, a world-renowned vendor of enterprise-grade mixed reality (MR) smart glasses, announced on Tuesday a partnership with Crozer Health to supply the healthcare firm with its X2 MR headset.

Thirdeye is working with the Springfield, Pennsylvania-based healthcare facility, with more locations across the country, to provide its first responders with immediate information access and treatment instructions to prepare for a patient’s arrival.

Bruce Egan, Chief of Crozer Emergency Medical Service said:

“By using augmented and mixed reality, we can enable hands-free remote assistance to enhance the care provided for our patients. […] We’re continuing to collaborate with ThirdEye to keep adding new first responder specific features.”

Additionally, Thirdeye created its Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) certified RespondEye platform to prepare for emergency medical services (EMS) use cases. Crozer Health doctors are using the immersive platform to display custom EMS protocols and instructions.

On-site doctors can use RespondEye in conjunction with ThirdEye’s cross-compatible X2 MR wearables designed for iOS and Android smartphones, tablets, and web browsers.

Nick Cherukuri, CEO and Founder of ThirdEye, explained,

“To have the most impact in the healthcare industry and aid in the fight against COVID-19, we obtained our HIPAA certification for the X2 MR Glasses and RespondEye platform for first responders”

The news comes after ThirdEye greatly extended its MR solution last year to reach global first responders and frontline workers, improving communication between remote teams amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

At the moment, ThirdEye has seen use in vertical markets such as industrial, military, and environmental workplaces.

ThirdEye’s X2 device is a lightweight, 9.8-ounce, MR solution that provides wearers with a 42-degree field of view, 1280 x 72-pixel resolution, 4 GB of RAM, and a 64 GB storage space.

The massive storage space allows X2 users to store many useful enterprise and consumer-grade applications. Currently, there are roughly 1,000 software developers that have released more than 100 immersive applications on ThirdEye’s MR solution.

Also, ThirdEye is providing content creators which an extensive software development kit (SDK) to help teams produce high-fidelity immersive applications.

The news comes after ThirdEye partnered with Chinese extended reality (XR) experts Go VR Immersive to extend the global availability of the X2 device.

Additionally, at this month’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022, the New Jersey-based firm announced its Razor MR glasses aimed at providing customers with Metaverse content such as digital overlays, movie streaming, and multiplayer immersive experiences.
