The XR world is building up hype for Apple’s potential consumer-grade MR headset; meanwhile, Meta continues its Quest Pro push and development of a third consumer iteration. On the other hand, the immersive enterprise industry continues to secure validation from workplace end-users.

While some consumer interest in the Metaverse has dwindled in light of Chat-GPT, the immersive space is still growing as a solid solution for workplace operations.

This month, many leading immersive product providers solidified their presence in various industries.

Varjo, Twinmotion Partner to Provide Support for AEC Designers

Last Thursday, Varjo partnered with Twinmotion to integrate architectural, engineering, and construction (AEC) tools for professional designers on its MR headset product portfolio.

Twinmotion users can utilize headsets like the Varjo Aero to provide high-quality display resolutions and visual fidelity. This allows engineers to view buildings at scale, a significant advantage over 2D screen viewing.

Twinmotion AEC designers and engineers can leverage Varjo’s spatial computing capabilities to render projects earlier in the developmental process. This allows workers to interact with architectural renderings in real time while overviewing technical measurements.

Jonathan Dreyfus, Computational Practice Specialist at Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF) Associates, noted that the combination of Twinmotion’s software and Varjo’s hardware allows AEC experts “to bring their vision to life on a real-world scale, with unmatched visual clarity.”

Dreyfus also explained that Twinmotion’s integration into the Varjo Aero “opens entirely new possibilities for VR in architecture,” thanks to Twinmotion’s efficient and realistic models.

RealWear continues its journey as a Digital Solutions Provider.

Earlier this month, RealWear, a leader in immersive industrial solutions, launched three new services RealWear Connect, App Marketplace, and Developer Toolkit.

The application’s debut continues RealWear’s journey as a digital solutions provider, with the firm first marking its refocus when debuting Cloud and Assitance, software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions for managing fleets of the firm’s headsets,

Marketplace is a digital storefront where RealWear headset users can manage and access first and immersive third-party services.

The service lets Frontline workers install applications directly onto RealWear devices to boost frontline productivity and safety.

RealWear also introduced Connect to assist frontline collaboration across central operations teams, such as dealing with support requests.

Devices such as the RealWear Navigator® 520 or HMT-1Z1® allow an off-site operator to share their point of view via Connect, including AR visualizations. Moreover, Connect supports Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

RealWear also introduced a developer toolkit for Cloud to support its new application portfolio, allowing the developer community to design new work opportunities.

The toolkit allows developers to enrich the RealWear application ecosystem of immersive services with opportunities such as early-access firmware, uploaded applications, community boards, training materials, and code snippets.

KPMG Grants Glue an ISO/IEC 27001 Certificate

Finally, this month, Glue Collaboration, a Metaverse application for enterprise end-users, gained a KPMG IT Certification Ltd awarded its ISO/IEC 27001 certificate highlighting the firm’s service is suitable for enterprise usage thanks to the company’s information security management.
