Last month, XR Today held its first-ever online Summit, which gave a platform to some of the brightest minds in the augmented, virtual, and mixed reality (AR/VR/MR) industry.

During the Summit, featured guests provided vital insights into the emerging technologies that are changing the future of work, industry, and branding.

Day two of the packed three-day Summit featured sessions and topics on core XR tech, including industry 4.0, digital identity, and NFTs.

While the event’s live stream has passed, the XR Summit online portal hosts each session on demand.

Developing Industry 4.0 with Emerging Technologies

The first session featured Luis Bravo Martins, Chief Marketing Officer for KIT AR and David A Smith, Founder and Chief Technology Officer for Croquet Corporation, who discussed the benefits of integrating enterprise-grade immersive technology.

The speakers also examined the immersive technologies required for businesses wishing to adopt Industry 4.0 solutions, which included smart and immersive technologies coming together to transform workplace operations.

Additionally, the session’s experts spoke on emerging Metaverse services, the steps required for creating realistic simulations, and securing real-time 3D (RT3D) information flows by implementing ultra-fast connections with additional end-to-end security.

What does Digital Identity Mean for your Bussiness

Furthermore, during a conversation on digital identity, featured speakers explored the future of XR inclusion and developer accessibility.

Elena De Sosa, VP of Partner Development at Geenee AR, explained how everyone should have access to Metaverse development opportunities, no matter their barriers to entry.

De Sosa noted that developers in certain regions face massive roadblocks in accessing XR hardware and tools, adding that in Brazil, Meta headsets are roughly $2,000.

She explained how Brazillian XR content creators might face serious difficulties when accessing the hardware that lets them enter into or build a Metaverse experience genuinely representative of them.

During the conversation, Cory Greiner, CEO of Geenee AR, De Sosa, and Roman Rappak, CCO, Co-Founder of Ristband, strongly agreed that immersive firms should secure different perspectives within a Web3 development team and user feedback groups.

NFT 101 – Major Disruption Ahead

In the final session, NFT experts Billy Huang, Co-Founder and Chief Executive for Insomnia Labs (formerly Luna Market), Leila Ismailova, Head of Curated Drops for ARTISANT, and Arsen Aharonyan, Chief Marketing Officer for Spheroid Universe explored enterprise disruption opportunities held by blockchain technology.

The panel discussed how emerging NFT economies and decentralised digital infrastructures present a fresh income opportunity for artists and brands.

The XR Summit’s featured NFT experts noted how artists working on the blockchain could build their monetised ecosystems through web3 content creation.
