Yesterday, workplace AR solutions provider Glartek highlighted its success in deploying immersive training tools with Plastic Energy, a Spanish global leader in plastic recycling. The partnership allows Plastic Energy to reduce training times, end paper use, lower errors, and enhance daily operation efficiency.
Bruno Duarte, the CEO at Glartek, added:
We are very excited to be working with a leader in the Spanish market, such as Plastic Energy, and we will continue to support their journey with our solution. We are committed to working side by side with this industrial leader to help them succeed in their continuous improvement strategy and help them achieve better results.
The move allows Plastic Energy to leverage Glartek’s Connected Worker solution for advanced digitalization training workflows, preparing workers for frontline operations in two Spanish chemical recycling plants.
The Connected Worker solution helps Plastic Energy centralize and streamline its operational and maintenance procedures as AR workflows. For example, Plastic Energy workers can now leverage Glartek’s AR portfolio to conduct real-time maintenance inspections and enable AR-powered worker training.
Thanks to Glartek’s solution, Plastic Energy is reducing junior talent training and administrative workflow times. According to the partners, this enables Plastic Energy to enhance safety and proficiency. Moreover, Plastic Energy initially relied on paper-based procedures, leading to the firm going fully digital with Glartek’s AR workflows to modernize its procedures.
María Sánchez, Process Engineering at Plastic Energy, added:
We’ve been able to decrease training times, requirements, and errors. Also, now we have real-time guidance supported by digital tools increasing workers’ autonomy leading to greater productivity and efficiency.
Glartek emphasized its support for performance optimization and enterprise-wide scalability in its most recent software release. The firm explained that clients can deploy its solution in multiple workplace environments, such as a factory, without experiencing lag time, ensuring smooth business operations. Additionally, Glartek supports software scaling across dispersed factories by accommodating new languages in its system.
Glartek 2.0 Debuts in 2024
Earlier this year, Glartek announced the release of version 2.0 of its AR collaboration solution. This new version provides AI and RT3D spatial assets for team management, training, and analytics. Glartek 2.0 represents the company’s commitment to improving the performance of its frontline solutions by enhancing real-time collaboration, connectivity, and software rollout capabilities.
Some new features in Glartek 2.0 include a worker skill management page for task allocation, identifying training needs, and addressing skills gaps. New dashboard features also allow real-time metrics to facilitate decision-making, and new templates ensure quick software adoption. The update also includes 3D training models, such as digital twins of machinery.
Glartek 2.0 leverages this technology to automate data extraction to automatically create training templates in line with the growing trend of AI integration.
Bruno Duarte said at the time:
We are so excited to be expanding our digital solution and adding maturity to our technology. Glartek 2.0 provides a more comprehensive approach to specific issues in the industry while expanding the capabilities of users. We listened to our clients and drew up from real-life experiences what companies were lacking, and we are now introducing the necessary changes to help companies streamline their operations and have a more complete experience using our software. At Glartek, we believe that both providers and clients can achieve continuous improvement, and we are leading the way to a new future.
Glartek 2.0 also introduces features to its Augmented & Connected Worker Platform for new onboarding expectations. The new onboarding features include augmented step-by-step guides for relevant Glartek 2.0, allowing clients to digitize and optimize immersive training integration.
Glartek Debuts on Vision Pro
Glartek’s frontline solutions are used in various industry markets, including manufacturing, automotive, utilities, and paper & pulp. The software can also be utilized in other sectors, such as retail, training, and remote assistance, to ensure that workers are both safe and productive.
Glartek recently integrated its Augmented & Connected Worker solution onto the Apple Vision Pro headset, allowing Glartek’s services to enhance the capabilities of frontline workers using the Vision Pro’s powerful hardware.
Luís Murcho, Glartek’s COO, noted that the Vision Pro debut highlights a “clear indicator of the future of the technologies and demonstrates the vitality of its ongoing expansion.”
Murcho also added:
At Glartek, we instantly felt the need to make our solution compatible with this latest device to demonstrate our commitment to providing clients with our solution across multiple devices and to showcase our constant need to innovate and use the latest tools to expand our potential.
Glartek announced that its frontline solution is now available on Apple’s Vision Pro. This allows users to use the device’s eye-tracking technology and micro-OLED display to interact with digital assets, including AR work instructions, AR guidance maps, access to documents, checklists, and 3D models.
