Vuzix, a global vendor of augmented reality (AR) smart glasses, in partnership with Ohana One and TeleVU, is supplying Ukrainian doctors and nurses with immersive technology that provides crucial frontline support.

Paul Travers, the President and CEO of Vuzix, said:

With the country’s doctors, nurses and facilities inundated with casualties in many regions, our smart glasses and the remote medical support they can provide through Ohana One’s extensive network of surgeons will help facilitate the best medical treatment possible under their extremely tough conditions.

In an announcement made late last month, Vuzix reportedly donated numerous M400 brand smartglasses to the nation’s healthcare professionals.

The M400 Smart glasses contain an 854 x 480 resolution display, Snapdragon XR1 processing chip, eight-core processor, and it runs on a flexible Android OS. Recently, Vuzix updated the M400 device to support 28 new languages.

Healthcare Software Package

Vuzix is donating its devices with reliable services from Ohana One and TeleVU, giving frontline workers powerful immersive guidance, training, and management tools.

TeleVU provides global healthcare workers with AR remote guidance solutions, artificial intelligence (AI) networks, and immersive training procedures to improve patient care, collaboration, and communication.

TeleVU includes many smart glasses applications in its ecosystem, including:

  • The GlassVU feature supplies medical professionals with remote guidance tools, allowing a mentor to look through the wearer’s point of view so they can assist with frontline procedures.
  • RemoteViewVU securely stores and distributes crucial guidance information accessible via a cloud portal.
  • ScreenVU relays video between frontline medical staff into an AR display, ranging from x-rays, endoscopy, ultrasound imagery, and vital signs.
  • CamVU connects AR devices directly to a mounted Wi-Fi or USB camera feed. The application enables AR-ready healthcare workers to receive a direct video link to a medical instrument such as a microscope.
  • DeviceVU is a smartphone application that sends remote guidance information to medical professionals via their mobile devices.
  • FlowVU provides a space to create and manage digital workflows. The service supports immersive inputs like voice commands and hand-tracking.
  • AIVU is a plugin that TeleVU made to enhance its immersive technology ecosystem so healthcare institutions can personalise the service to best suit individual practices.
  • Also, GlassVU is an upcoming feature that turns voice-recognised audio into doctor’s notes in real-time.

Additionally, the immersive software package includes support from Ohana One healthcare professionals. Ohana One provides global healthcare training through online courses and programmes. The company is also an official partner of Vuzix and offers expert training directly through the firm’s lineup of smartglasses.
