Leading smart glasses and augmented reality (AR) solutions manufacturer Vuzix announced on Tuesday that Atlantic Mobile Accessories (AMA) has ordered additional purchases to deploy for remote assistance solutions.
AMA, a European Value-Added Reseller (VAR) for the Rochester-based enterprise, has developed a smart workspace solution for frontline workers and remote experts tailored to businesses.
The Rennes, France-based firm has facilitated digital transformations for major industrial organisations and medical institutions with its XpertEye video conferencing tool, which has been deployed across 150 countries and 450 customers globally.
Paul Travers, President and Chief Executive of Vuzix, said that his firm continued to see numerous companies across industries “turning to smart glasses and embracing Vuzix solutions.”
Speaking further, he said,
“The proven productivity improvements and other benefits Vuzix smart glasses offer, such as a reduced carbon footprint and improved worker safety, should remain a driving force for the accelerating adoption of these products”
Thomas Waendendries, Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at AMA, added that with XpertEye, frontline staff could “reap the full benefit” of remote assistance with smart glasses from Vuzix.
He concluded,
“We address a myriad of use cases across verticals to help the remote worker capture and share knowledge in real-time, improve first-time fix rate, and drive operational efficiency”
Views on the Metaverse
The latest solution deployment comes as Vuzix steps up efforts to join the global Metaverse race, sparked by tech giants such as Meta Platforms, NVIDIA, HTC VIVE, Decentraland, Niantic, and others.
Speaking to the International Business Times, Travers stated,
“There are more than a few definitions of the term ‘metaverse,’ but taken holistically, the metaverse is going to be much bigger than the internet itself. Think about how much the internet has changed our world, and yet it is primarily confined to the cloud”
“There are more than a few definitions of the term ‘metaverse,’ but taken holistically, the #metaverse is going to be much bigger than the internet itself,” CEO, Paul Travers, with @PMourdoukoutas via @IBTimes.

He added the Metaverse would be “bigger than just virtual worlds for people to play in” or rebranding opportunities for companies, but would “improve real-life capabilities” as it is driven by “incredibly rich metadata” connected to the real world.
Competition skyrocketed among tech firms, namely after Meta’s Zuckerberg announced its pivot to becoming a Metaverse company in August and major rebranding from Facebook in October.
