Last week, the United States Air Force’s (USAF) Air Education and Training Command (AETC) announced plans to award extended reality (XR) training firm Dynepic with a contract extension worth $3.6 million USD, boosting the deal to over $10 million.

The contract extension and funding will allow Dynepic to scale its Member Operations Training Analytics Reports (MOTAR) system known as a ‘Software Factory’. The development follows a successful year for Dynepic that brought innovative augmented reality (AR) authoring tools.

Additionally, the AETC contract extension enables Dynepic to scale its DX platform to enhance instruction for Air Force trainees, and will democratise enterprise-grade immersive learning by uniting lessons, applications, and artificial intelligence (AI) technology under one hub.

Krissa Watry, Co-Founder and CEO, added:

“This increase will help support Dynepic and its vendor ecosystem to continue bringing US Airmen the best in modern training technologies and experiences and help support the acceleration of Authority to Operate (ATO) certification for vendor technologies integrated with MOTAR”

DX provides the USAF with secure user networks to transform remote guidance and communication with customizable APIs, software development kits (SDK), and 3D model management.

Currently, the USAF uses the MOTAR and DX systems to enhance maintenance training as well as combat readiness, recruiting, and air traffic control.

Airman Learning Record

Thanks to the contract extension, Dyneptic will introduce its Airman Learning Record platform as part of its MOTAR software bundle, which enables USAF mentors to track performance metrics accurately.

SMSgt Powell Crider, MOTAR Program Manager, said in a statement,

“Using MOTAR to link together disparate systems and present information in a modern, adaptable interface, allows us to deliver pertinent training and operation data with the analytics and features required for the future Air Force”

Also, the Airman Learning Record plugin adds robust AI-driven data frameworks and mission planning capabilities to improve the platform for USAF and military use cases.

MOTAR and BUNDLAR

The news comes after BUNDLAR, a Content Management System (CMS) for quick AR experience creation and publishing for cross-platform distribution, joined the MOTAR ecosystem in late February.

The partnership enables MOTAR to offer BUNLARs no-code AR authoring platform to upgrade custom immersive training solutions for various vertical markets and across workforces such as healthcare, defence departments, and academia.

BUNDLAR released its content authoring tools as a smartphone app to support in-house developers editing ongoing or existing AR solutions on the go, regardless of an individual’s internet connectivity.
