Seabery has announced it is offering three AR solutions: Soldamatic, AT (Augmented Training), and Augmented Lab.

The Spanish company is focused on producing the best augmented training for learners, with more than 90,000 trained professionals in over 75 countries, as one of the leading firms in the welding market.

The company has won multiple awards over the past decade for their solutions, including the likes of “Best Enterprise Solutions at Welindia” and the “Worlddidac” awards in 2014.

Soldamatic’s Solutions

Soldamatic is a hyper-realistic AR simulation offering immersive welding training as well as a comprehensive catalogue of advanced welding joints for students to practice.

These 3D-scanned models help foster the muscle memory needed for welding complex multi-joints, among other benefits, leading to a 56 percent and 84 percent reduction in learning times and accidents, respectively.

Augmented Training (AT) is a dynamic and flexible solution for eLearning across vocational, technical and industrial sectors and is currently integrated into 400 companies, governments and institutions in 45 countries.

In practice, AT allows for AR to be used to help with day-to-day workflows, giving employees instant access to didactics and learning tools. Giving users a learning journey from AR classrooms to live vocational use, AT looks to support students and users as they go through on their own.

Based in Huelva, Spain, Augmented Lab is the first welding training centre to use AR, and is split into two sections: The Augmented Lab and the Real Lab.

Using Soldamatic training technology, the students can refine their skills under close inspection of the teachers and when ready, students can easily transfer over to the Real Lab with real welding tools.

Using elements from both the Soldamatic solution and the Augmented Training platform, Augmented Lab is the first of its kind and it looks like there is room for expansion.

The Cornwall Collage Group

Last week, The Cornwall Collage Group was recently mentioned in Parliament alongside constituents who are “making a true difference.” Students received firsthand experience of Soldamatic’s AR welding devices at the company’s Camborne-based learning institution.

On a Linkedin post by Darren Reski, it showed a few students using the AR welding tools under supervision.

It has not been confirmed if the UK will get an Augmented Lab in the future, but introducing AR training to more institutions will help expand awareness of the practical and flexible aspects of this technology.
