Rokid has officially launched the AR Lite spatial computing suite, combining the Rokid Max 2 glasses and the Rokid Station 2 host unit to create a pairing that advances hardware with improved user interaction through the exclusive YodaOS-Master spatial operating system.

The Rokid AR Lite suite offers a lightweight, wearable, and user-friendly experience to drive user adoption and distribution. Moreover, the new product leverages Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Platform to enhance graphics rendering and AI computing on its YodaOS-Master operating system.

Rokid explains that its new smart glasses product is ready for consumer and enterprise usage. Currently, the firm is working under various strategic collaborations to boost the presence of smart glasses in businesses, including entertainment, travel, and home office productivity.

Current Rokid enterprise collaborations include partnerships with Hainan Airlines, Loong Air, Alibaba Cloud, Yinxiang Biji, and Qualcomm Technologies.

Rokid AR Lite: What’s New?

The new AR Lite device from Rokid allows the firm’s design initiatives to move towards wearable, lightweight, and user-friendly hardware.

Notably, the Rokid AR Lite device weighs 75 grams, with the firm highlighting how the small form factor and compact aluminium alloy frame allow the product to more similarly match traditional eyewear, therefore boosting widespread adoption.

Many other firms are taking this approach towards smartglasses; most prominently, Meta’s Ray-Ban smart glasses aim to push general consumer adoption by placing light AR features into a familiar wearable.

Moreover, to power the computing behind the AR Lite product, Rokid is leveraging Station 2 technology and the aforementioned Snapdragon Platform

The Rokid AR Lite device also includes a 5000mAh battery and dual Type-C ports that supports 18W fast charging. Moreover, the included Rokid Station 2 solutions ensures user success during extended period of use, such as during a long workflows or during a and entertainment streaming.

Moreover, to support long periods of use the AR Lite product comes with various design features to further enhance usability such as intelligent interpupillary distance adjustment for optimal visual clarity and comfort, on-destructive diopter adjustment to support nearsighted users, ultra-light air nose pads provide a roughly 30 per cent reduction in pressure on the nose bridge, therefore enhancing comfort, and a soft ergonomic design to improve comfortability during prolonged use.

Meanwhile, the AR Lite suite introduces innovative human-machine interaction, eliminating physical buttons on the Rokid Station 2 in favor of single, double, and triple finger touch controls. This transition facilitates seamless three-dimensional content interaction, complemented by the precision of its spatial ray pointer.

Additioanlly to help focus the product towards new and emerging productivity use cases Rokid are introducing new wuakity of life software improvements to suit immersive workflows.

Rokid is introducing Multi Screen Mode that display virtual desktop screen up to 300-digital inches, Motion Mode that secures picture stabilization during travel scenarios, Spatial Screen Casting which extends multi-platform content display and enhanced connectivity to ensure workers can stay connected.

Rokid are an experienced firm looking to bring its smart glasses solution to new audiences, that may have shown interest in XR due to recent major firms entering the race. However the shark tank is deep.
