AR firm Nextech announced on Tuesday it had launched a next-generation advert technology for clients, allowing users to connect to Google’s massive network of 3D ads.
The company’s NexTech AR Ads solution would boost engagement of 3D ads, without requiring an app to download, and would leverage WebXR technologies for immersive AR experiences, the company said.
AR Ads would also include key analytics to provide marketers with insights on customer data for higher engagement and click rates, among others.
Evan Gappelberg, Nextech Chief Executive, explained further:
“Digital consumers are looking for engaging immersive experiences. The combination of Nextech AR’s 3D model creation at scale with Nextech’s Ad Network now on Google Ads creates an incredibly valuable offering that accelerates our customer’s reach with higher engagement levels”
Google’s Display Network had a reach of roughly 90 percent of global internet users “across millions” of news outlets, websites, blogs, and Google-native apps such as Gmail, YouTube, and others, he added.
According to company analytics, Nextech’s Vacuum Cleaner Market (VCM) revealed roughly 5 percent click through rates (CTR) for 3D adverts compared to Google’s 1.55 CTRs, Smart Insights found.
The Vancouver-based firm’s 3D technologies, along with Google’s massive advert network valued at roughly $146 billion in 2020, offered “compelling” advertising tools for clients, the company said.
Elisabeth Souquet, Marketing Director for Motif, a major company providing clients with fashion knowledge and educational resources, said Nextech’s 3D ad suite was a “game changer”, adding:
“Partnering with Nextech AR Ad Network gives us extended reach to new B2B communities in consumer product goods, fashion & apparel and branding agencies. Its 3D advertising capabilities were a key draw for us and enables us to illustrate to prospective students the type of 3D models they can create through our 3D digital fashion course with Roz McNulty”
Nextech’s Rapid Developments in AR, Metaverse
The news comes as Nextech launched several key strategic plans to expand in the AR market as it prepares to build the Metaverse, or global digital shared space for XR technologies, amongs rival firms.
Nextech recently acquired British spatial computing company ARway, along with several key executives, to build “mini-metaverses” using the latter’s AI-enhanced location mapping technologies.
Nextech has also announced its HoloX content creator platform for building and hosting creative 3D holographic content backed by non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to generate additional revenues.
HoloX would also integrate its solutions into Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 mixed reality headsets, it was reported this month, with Gappelberg stating the company had selected Microsoft for its corporate and government-level targeted markets, where Nextech currently had customer relationships to “see very specific use cases” for human holograms.
