Flow Immersive is an XR company with a difference. Rather than creating virtual worlds to collaborate or 3D renderings of remote working professionals, Flow’s USP is that it visualises data

Founded in 2016, Flow’s ultimate objective is to help business leaders make smarter decisions by interacting with data, visualising in 3D formats, and collaborating on data analysis. It uses a combination of data storytelling techniques, 3D modelling, and augmented reality to create dazzling and informative visualisations.

In the last few quarters, the company has created several data stories in immersive formats – what it calls a “flow” – to explain various topical issues. If you visit the Flow website, you will find their technology’s take on the 2020 election, state-wise breakdown of COVID-19 cases, US & China tariffs, and several other flows.

Let’s quickly review the key features Flow has to offer.

What the Key Features of Flow?

The Flow Immersive Solutions portfolio is still evolving, and you can expect new features with every release. For now, Flow offers these key capabilities.

3D content creation and delivery

You can create rich, accurate, and interactive data visualisations using the Flow Editor app. These are essentially 3D presentations that you create using a desktop system to be consumed on any device. Flow Immersive has a partnership with Magic Loop, so you can view the content through VR headsets as well. Or, the content consumer can use a smartphone or a tablet to superimpose the visualisation on their surroundings in AR.

Ready to use tools and templates

Floe makes it easy to create 3D content, thanks to the tools that ship prebuilt with the application. Anyone can create visualisations and drive data-driven decision-making without 3D modelling skills (which is the case for the majority of business leaders). There is also a laser-pointed tool in the content consumption interface that lets you draw a meeting participant’s attention to a data point or a specific aspect of the visualisation.

Enterprise-grade security

The company recognises that Flow has the potential to power high stakes decisions, which means a lot of sensitive and valuable information will be exchanged through the platform. That’s why all content assets are protected by enterprise-grade security measures. Further, meeting participants are available to colleagues only as a photo of their face that does not reveal the nature of their surroundings.

Collaboration over data

You can start a shared content experience on Flow, using any device, be it a flatscreen interface, spatial devices like an Oculus or Magic Leap, and even a simple web browser. This makes it easy for participants to quickly jump into a meeting and discuss a data point, without having to worry about where they are or what device they are on.

What are the Benefits of Leveraging Flow Immersive?

Flow can prove game-changing to your business if utilised correctly. Nearly every business generates reams of data every day, not to mention third-party data and the public domain. You can use Flow to combine the power of data with the collective intelligence of your leadership.

How Do You Get Flow?

Flow is available only to a select set of users like Cisco, Blackrock, and the United Nations. You can get an invite and join the waiting list here
