FlickPlay Partners with The Sandbox for Social Media NFTs

The Disney-mentored NFT platform partners with the major metaverse player for fresh marketing options

This month, Web3 service Flickplay announced new integrated social utilities into its most popular NFT brands. The update enables Flickplay communities to connect through augmented video creation. 

The Sandbox and Lightspeed Ventures are assisting with scaling Flickpaly’s goals of bringing notable brands to the Web3 space. Flickplay empowers its clients with NFT, blockchain marketing, and customer engagement avenues.

The CEO and Founder of FlickPlay, Pierina Merino, said,

“We are prioritizing NFT collections with engaged communities. The social tools that FlickPlay offers will empower holders to express themselves with their NFTs and connect visually with their communities”

Merino also noted that FlickPlay has more than 50 collections on its waitlist. Additionally, she mentioned that Flickplay is working on a platform tool for creators to certify NFT collections.

What is Social Utility?

FlickPlay unique selling point among its Web3 peers is its video creation tools. The feature lets brands track an NFT’s rarity and social ranking based on metrics such as likes, views, and gifted Flickcoins – the application’s digital token.

FlickPlay is evolving its social graph as a feature, allowing users to track an NFT’s ranking. The feature assists users and communities in assessing the value of blockchain content.

Additionally, FlickPlay socially-led content creation tools let users add personal value to an NFT by linking it to a location and creating story-driven content.

FlickPlay’s platform integrates social media and NFT technology, which enables users to engage more with blockchain assets and increase online awareness.

The firm also experienced successful investments from brands like Warner Bros, Eventbrite, and King to enhance and draw more eyes to real-world events.

Additionally, the Walt Disney Company picked up FlickPlay as part of its extended reality (XR) accelerator in July. The alliance enables Flickplay to access investment capital, senior leadership team guidance, a personal dedicated executive mentor, and a technology showcase.

Disney started the accelerator to support emerging technologies crucial to Metaverse experiences, such as AR, NFT, and AI solutions. The program comes as Disney goes digital, adopting XR solutions at its theme parks, cruises, and restaurants.
