This week, Campfire announced a new “killer” application which allows customers to leverage the firm’s immersive AR collaboration tools for users between PC, Mac, and iPad devices. Moreover, the application supports Campfire’s custom XR headset for PCs.

The new service combines Campfire’s previously available applications to enable an immersive collaboration suite leveraging the firm’s hardware portfolio. By placing its solution under one unified application, Campfire can improve the efficacy and usability of its immersive platform for enterprise end-users.

Jay Wright, the CEO and Co-Founder of Campfire added:

Enterprise XR has been a fragmented mess of point solutions that fail to scale for lack of usability and utility. We designed Campfire to solve a basic human challenge that XR technology uniquely solves – the difficulty of communicating 3D information. We’ve made it easier than ever, and are proud to bring it to market.

Campfire to Empower Hyrbid Teams

Campfire’s new application allows a hybrid team to collaborate on 3D models such as computer-aided designs (CADs), assisting with workplace operations and use cases such as training, design meetings, and product reviews.

Moreover, the platform leverages NeRF/Photogrammetry solutions, allowing users to scan real-life objects with third-party services and import the RT3D assets into a Campfire session.

Campfire also leverages traditional 2D computing operations to enhance its spatial computing offering. The firm allows users to share a 3D Campfire “Scene” with colleges via a web link, ready to participate.

Without requiring a lengthy onboarding process, Campfire lets users quickly share 3D Scenes, and invitees can interact in immersive meetings or offline with powerful tools to explore and annotate content.

According to the firm, Campfire’s system can help improve workplace outcomes by providing an alternative to travel, shipping, and communication delays stemming from traditional collaboration expectations. Campfire designed its system to help drive enterprise productivity and sustainability via digital transformation journies.

Moreover, Campfire says that various companies are applying for the firm’s early access program to assist with innovation in immersive collaboration. Currently, end-users representing markets such as aerospace, automotive, medical devices, retail, and apparel are pursuing Campfire’s solution as a viable immersive tool.

Ryan Wheeler, the Senior Fellow of Advanced Visualizations at Collins Aerospace, a Campfire enterprise end-user, noted how immersive solutions could improve ROI and business outcomes. Noting:

We’ve been looking at AR and VR for 15 years because the potential productivity gains and cost savings are so great. We engaged with Campfire because it’s hands down the easiest-to-use solution I’ve seen and the best visual experience in a headset. Campfire opens the door to a much broader set of use cases that we couldn’t previously address.

What’s on Offer?

Within its newly unified application offering, Campfire provides a multi-layered avenue for enterprise end-users to leverage immersive collaboration opportunities.

The Campfire Application allows users to share more than 40 types of 3D models via web links accessible from various devices. Workers operating a Campfire headset will have a large field of view for interacting with a scene, and they can connect an iPhone to the headset to navigate the service.

Moreover, the application allows users to interact with Campfire sessions. They enable users to participate via integrated systems such as adding notes to a Scene, interacting with CAD 3D objects using virtual tools, and sketching around a virtual object. Additionally, workers in a Campfire Scene can leverage complex models with multiple parts. It also allows workers to view vertical slices or each part individually via integrated tools.

A Campfire Scene can allow up to 5 enterprise users to collaborate. Moreover, cross-platform users can leverage Campfire Console or Studio Console for reliable in-person, shared holograms in offices, meeting rooms, and collaboration spaces.

Headset users can collaborate over a Campfire console, observing a 3D object as a shared hologram. Alongside its smartphone application, Campsite is debuting its Starter Kit under an early access program.

According to the firm, the product allows enterprise end-users to quickly set up a holographic collaboration session in less than an hour. The kit contains two Campfire Headsets/Packs/Consoles (Pioneer Edition), five enterprise user licenses, and one Studio Console.

Enterprise US, UK, and EU customers can purchase the product kit directly via the firm. Moreover, Campfire is debuting its hardware and software solution for $15,000 per year via its company website. Prospective buyers can contact the Campfire sales team to learn more or gain access to Campfire’s innovative business solutions.
