Is the future now? Campfire 3D, an augmented reality startup with a new mission, are bringing 3D holographic collaboration to your design and engineering workflows this Fall.

The Campfire’s unique hardware and software is being developed as a total package. Whether you’re a trained CAD designer or someone who is completely new to 3D workflows.

The Campfire looks to simplify and innovate, allowing employees with any level of AR experience to participate.

Providing new levels of comfort with an ultra-wide field of view headset and offering a new levels of accessibility. With a great piece of the package being an ‘Instant-On’ console which projects a shared central hologram.

In collaboration with Frog Global Design, Campfire’s set up gives each user a unique smartphone attachment and occupying app. These give instant access to the collaborative hologram. Without the need for WIFI or Bluetooth. This allows anybody to jump in, at anytime, with their smartphones.

In 2019 Meta Assets were acquired by Jay wright CEO of Campfire. Allowing Campfire to start a new mission from the fate of the Meta headset.

Another member of the Campfire team is Roy Ashok, who also joined as a CEO. He brings with him an impressive resume from his previous Smart Glass venture DAQRI. This venture gained a reported client base of 120+ workplaces. As stated by DAQRI at the Augmented World Expo 2018.

As a result of this strong foundation, Campfire has gained $8 million in funding for 2021, Campfire are looking to create a new voice and make an impact in the AR landscape moving forward:

“I think we’ll see that the fate of the [Meta] assets is actually a bit different between us and other parties that went in this direction, and that there may actually be a really formidable  future for this,” – Jay Wright Speaking to The Verge Jan 18, 2019.

How Can this Improve Workflows?

Integrating an collaborative AR space into your workflow, can be beneficial to a wide spectrum of design and engineering personnel. Using the Campfire 3D holographic technology, design and engineering teams are able to import Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) documents. As well as using the holographic projection as a new and engaging way to set up meeting presentations in an engaging AR space.

With Campfire taking into account the various level of AR knowledge amongst a workplace. Campfire looks to also be a tool for those wanting to learn more about AR. Thus helping those who are less knowledgeable to become comfortable in this AR space.

Campfire are aiming to make their own unique mark on the AR landscape, the ease of access presented with Campfire’s 3D  holographic collaboration peripherals puts the company in a good position.

Applying a fresh and forward thinking approach to workplace collaboration, alongside a healthy round of funding. It will be worth keeping up with Campfire 3D by catching updates from their website.

The Campfire has a proposed Fall launch and with that, looks to stand out with an ability to change the workplace.
